Astro, the third

It was a bit of a crazy weekend, road trip to Toronto and back with Ted (thanks Ted!!) bit of confusion with the pick up, bit of a problem with the monitor. That said I ended up with a very nice cab and a nice chunk of the basement filled with gaming goodness.

The new one is the one in the middle, notice the vertically aligned monitor, this cab is for shooters.

The challenge with this one is that there is a bit of a monitor issue, things are a little bit wavy which is weird, I assume I'll need to do a cap kit on it which will be a scary and new experience for me. If I have to do that I'll post pics and stuff.

Arcade Stuff

So, I was out at a movie and came across this (see pic) it was shocking! There is actually a 3 screen F355 from Sega in Ottawa at the theater in Bayshore. The game appears to be in good shape too, they also had a 2 player Daytona 2 with the cars that have the hydrolics. So cool.

There is really no point to this post other than to just say how cool it is. I guess I could start on about how there are no arcades in Ottawa... but it seems to be useless to even talk about it. Arcades are not doing well the world over even in Japan where Sega is going to close 110 of them. 110!! Holy crap that's insane. The only silver lining there is that maybe some of the cabinets will end up with resellers in North America. Not that I'd want to buy another cabinet....
